Ideas of Mi Nina

Ideas

Mi Nina is a song that holds true to the Bachata genre of music which originated in the Dominican Republic.  Bachata’s music has certain ideas to it that can be seen throughout all of its songs.  These ideas are the context of the music and the spirituality aspects.  Bachata music usually talks about relationships and heartbreaks.  The spirituality piece of the music is the emotions being played through the song.  Mi Nina does have these two ideas in the song to compliment Bachata music.

For starters, when translated to English the title of the song is My Girl.  This simply shows the context in which this music is played with.  Throughout the song it talks about someone’s girl giving the song that Bachata feel.  Also, the song is played on a slower scale compared to other songs.  Once again this connection with Bachata music due to the romantic feel it has in its music.

Without understanding what is being said a person can feel the spirituality and emotion coming from the song.  The singer says his words with great ease so they are clearly heard.  He does this in a way like he wants to tell the world about his lady friend.  Due to the emotions this song can be slowly danced to in many types of ways.

The song Mi Nina inquires the ideas of Bachata music within its text.  Bachata music is usually about some type of romance just like this song is about someone’s girl.  Spirituality can be felt and acted upon with dance only through the sound of the soft music.  Mi Nina shows the great romance of Bachata music.
